I was really enjoying the workshop of making Makgeolli. I absolutely love culinary art and pairing drinks with the right food. Making drinks/ mixology art, is a different level when it comes to Makgeolli. The creation of flavours is endless, from refreshing to cosy warm and comfort. It makes it kind of exciting to find out what Makgeolli fits, what dish and season. The one I chose was chestnut and for me it was perfect, decent refreshing, also reviving. The flavour was just light on the tongue and the alcohol on its own,was not right in the face. It was a very "rounded"experience. The workshop was well organized, easy to follow and fun. I can check "making Makgeolli " of my list now. I can just recommend to take part in the workshop or ask your boss to make it party of a company event, or as part of a party. Thank you!

The absolute best spot for Makgeolli! I tried the plain and chestnut flavours along with the spicy chicken feet stew, and it was such an amazing experience. VanMak is hands down the best Makgeolli in Vancouver! I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone!!

Plenty of different Korean snacks to choose from for different cravings. It’s a small place, so it’s good for smaller groups of 2-4 people max. The cashier was really sweet and patient while I was being indecisive. I ordered the tteok-bokki and it didn’t disappoint, wish I ordered 2 instead of 1! They also sell frozen meal kits as well different side dishes and rice cakes. I’d definitely come back to try their alcohol!
